Reed W. Hoyt received his Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences with a
specialization in physiology from the University of New Mexico in 1981,
and served as a Research Assistant Professor at the University of
Pennsylvania before joining the USARIEM in 1986. He is a member of the
American Physiological Society, Sigma Xi, the American Institute of
Nutrition, and the American Society of Clinical Nutrition. He is a
recipient of the American Physiological Society Caroline tum Suden
Professional Opportunity Award for Meritorious Research on Exercise and
Energy Metabolism, and the Department of the Army Superior Civilian
Service Award. He holds five patents and has published over 60
scientific articles.
